Our natural food supplement contains 5-HTP from the shrub Griffonia. 5-HTP is aprecursor to serotonin, which is often referred to as the “feel good” hormone. Our supplement also contains additional nutrients magnesium and vitamin B6 which are necessary to support the conversion of 5-HTP to serotonin.

What are the benefits of 5-HTP?
5HTP can help to increase levels of serotonin, our 'happy neurotransmitter’ to support mood and feelings of well-being. 5HTP is a precursor to serotonin and melatonin. Melatonin is our sleep hormone and so supplementing 5HTP may help initiate sleep and improve sleep quality.  

As a neurotransmitter, serotonin helps to relay messages from one area of the brain to another. It is believed to influence a variety of psychological and body functions including mood, digestion, physical health, sleep quality and even wound healing.  

Is 5-HTP safe?
5HTP is related to serotonin, a neurotransmitter which affects mood and sleep. It is not recommended for children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or when taking SSRI and certain other medications. It may also not be suitable for certain health conditions.
